Joanne's Shared Ownership story
Joanne moved into her one bedroom Shared-Ownership apartment at Informer House (located in Teddington) in April 2022. Here’s what her experience was like in her own words:
“I had known about Shared Ownership for quite some time but I was never quite sure if I qualified. I’d been actively looking for a Shared Ownership home for a few months and then eventually came to find Informer House.
I made an enquiry and then very swiftly I heard from the Sales Agents who were looking after the sale of the apartments at Informer House. My Sales Advisor, Madi, took her time to explain every single process every step of the way and the level of communications all round was great. As a Teaching Assistant I wasn’t fully sure if I’d qualify for a Shared Ownership home but Madi was great and showed me the options that would be most affordable to me. There are always some lows as well as highs when carrying out something so major as purchasing a new home but Madi was there for me throughout and I really appreciated it.
There’s so much that I love about my new home. It’s quiet and peaceful and feels like my own personal sanctuary. I took inspiration from the décor in the show home at Informer House and have been putting my personal touches to my home, it looks so good my son tells me ‘you should be an interior designer mum!’ The thing that’s been most meaningful for me though is having my daughter bringing my grandkids around and having a place we can make memories together.
If you’re considering Shared Ownership then I’d say it’s the way forward. It’s a great way of getting onto the property ladder, especially with London property being so expensive and deposits being so high. It’s worked for me and it can work for you too.”
